The border on the east is approximately 4,095 kilometer with India. And it has also a little boundary of lands and water with Myanmar. It is about 193 kilometer. Now Bangladesh is very beautiful as it has a finest climate which helps it to nurture its natural beauties very well.

Sundarban is the biggest mangrove forest in the world which is also in Bangladesh and count as a fine location of natural beauties. It is mainly located in the enormous location on Bay of Bengal near Khulna. It has some of its area inside India’s border. But most of the part is located inside Bangladesh. The forest has a combination of three big rivers which are the Padma, the Meghna and the Brahmmaputra. These three main rivers have spread out through out the forest in the forms of canals. These are mainly the life stream of Sundarban. Sundarban has its area of 4110 square km. Among this area 1700 square km is covered by water.

Sundarban consists of many short islands and water routs. In this forest you can find nearly 600 lakes passes through it. You can easily travel through these canals to have a better look to the natural beauty of it. Now, the name of Sundarban mainly comes from a tree which is known as Sundari. This tree is mainly established in this forest. In this world most of the mangrove forests have trees of a specific kind which is Rhizophoraceae. But Sundarban has given importance to Sundari trees. Besides these, you can also find Gewa, Dhundul, Palms etc. The forest has approximately 334 types of plants.

The main asset of Sundarban is a rare type of tiger which is known as Royal Bengal Tiger in the whole world. It is only the habitat of this forest. As it is only be found in Sundarban, many tourists and travelers come here every year to see it But as a result of inappropriate protectionism these tigers are decreasing day by day. Along with this, you can also see the leopard, leopard cats, jungle cats, fishing cats etc. A special type of deer is also can be seen here. It is known as “Chitra Horin”. It is very beautiful to look at with its skin color. There are also some predator reptiles such as crocodile, gharial etc. Snakes and turtles also live in the jungle.

Sundarban is also a perfect place for birds. So, you can found plenty of birds here. Approximately 170 types of birds live here. The most common birds of the forest are Kingfisher, Adjutants, Masked fin foots etc. But there are also some birds which are often being captured or killed by the hunters or poachers. These birds are Sea eagles, Ospreys and Fish eagles. The most common birds which are the most seen are the open billed strokes, water hens, white ibis, pheasant-tailed Jacanas, pariah kites, swamp partridges, red jungle fowls and much more.

This forest with its scenic beauty is also an important part of the financial sector of Bangladesh. It gives the financial system a boost up with its woods, honey, fishes, bee wax, crustacean and mollusk. The people lives here generally build their houses by leaves. In their relax time, they often sing the songs of God and Goddess by which they demand protection from the threats of forest. Most of them earn their livelihood by catching fishes and selling them. And some of them go into the forest to collect honey and bee wax. This is a very risky job because almost every month they have been attacked by the Royal Bengal Tiger.

So, this is the way people leads their life here. It is very difficult to survive in an atmosphere like this but sometimes it is more difficult to avoid the relationship with the jungle which has been established long before they were born by their ancestors.
